Heart of America RFU Women’s Committee

Members: Maddie Pollard (Truman State), Tracey Davies (Kansas City Dragons), Brenna Lynch (Kansas City Jazz), Savannah Greiner (Kansas Women),
The Heart of America RFU Women’s Committee is being created to focus on the development of women’s rugby within the HoA. The Committee will compose of a Chairman, Secretary, and representatives of HoA Clubs who are member HoA Clubs. The Chairman is responsible for the management of the committee, operation, functions, and the reporting of the committee’s actions at all HoA general meetings. The Chairman can create support positions for the tasks the Committee is being required to perform for the HoA. The HoA will appoint the Chairman of the Committee.
OBJECTIVES
These are not set in stone, and are subject to change. The HoA feels the immediate list is the foundation for the committee to work with, and they have the ability to add or restructure the following objectives as the committee deems appropriate.
Current Objectives (December 2009):
Ensure all teams are in good standing with the Heart of America, West, and USA Rugby
Promote participation in All-Star teams
Look to developing Tournament
Task to be completed by January 30:
Identify the strengths and weakness of the women’s program in the HoA.
Identify barriers women encounter on their path to playing rugby.
Suggestions and recommendations for improving the women’s program.
Task to be completed by Summer AGM.
Creation of a budget.
Task to be completed by Summer AGM for presentation.
Create a 3-5 year plan for improving women’s rugby in the HoA, including Women DI, DII, Collegian DI, DII, High School Rugby, and Rookie Rugby.
Task to be completed by Summer AGM for 2010-2011 Competitive cycle.
Creation and organization for a structure for the HoA Camp, including date(s), location(s), mission statement for the program, and goals for the HoA Camp.
Creation and organization of a Collegian and High School Women’s Tournament (in cooperation with Metropolitan Committee), including date(s), location(s), mission statement for the program, and goals for the HoA Tournament.
